2 months agoI have a lumpectomy this Monday, and the surgeon will check my lymph nodes. The radiologist told me the cancer was like a jelly belly, jelly bean size, but it is invasive, so that part had me worried. I'm really hoping nothing will show up in my lymph nodes, as it didn't show on the ultrasound. I'm also worried because we're expecting bad weather and slippery roads, and I have a 45-minute drive to the hospital. I for sure don't want anything to postpone getting this cancer out.

2 months agoLumpectomy recovery typically involves some soreness and limited arm movement for a few days, with most people returning to normal activities within a week or two. The weather concerns are completely understandable - consider calling the hospital ahead of time to discuss backup plans or transportation options if road conditions become dangerous, as they often have protocols for situations like this and want to ensure safe travel for their patients.

a month agoI just tried to take the Velcro binder off to take a shower. The terrible sagging or weight of my breasts put me in extreme pain and I got instantly hot. I was 2 hours overdue for pain meds and should not have attempted that without taking them first and letting them kick in. This is day 3 from surgery and as much as I'd like a shower that pain is not going to let me. How long do most people wait to shower after surgery?

12 days agoTomorrow February 2 I start radiation and I'm nervous. I'm glad no Chemo since my Oncotype DX score was 15.
