2 years agoJust had bilateral mastectomy on Monday .. followed up with plastic surgeon today Friday who said I can now sleep without the surgical bra I still have the drains .. I’m nervous to just do that .. am I crazy? I think the bra offers comfort

Following your plastic surgeon's guidance is important, and it's completely understandable to feel nervous about changing routines during recovery. Many patients find that surgical bras provide both physical support and emotional comfort during the healing process, so trusting your instincts about what feels right for your body makes perfect sense.

6 months agoI had my surgery last August. I came home with 5 drains. I slept with the. Surgical bra for about a month. I did try without but found I was too uncomfortable.

6 months agoThe bra with a bundle of gauze to cushion should be worn for support and protection. It also provides sense of stability.

6 months agoI had bilateral mastectomy and insertion of tissue expanders 6 weeks ago. Drains were removed after 3 weeks. (Hopefully, you have camisoles with inner pockets to hold the drain bulbs.) I still wear a surgical bra to sleep in for support and comfort-
