Following your plastic surgeon's guidance is important, and it's completely understandable to feel nervous about changing routines during recovery. Many patients find that surgical bras provide both physical support and emotional comfort during the healing process, so trusting your instincts about what feels right for your body makes perfect sense.

I had my surgery last August. I came home with 5 drains. I slept with the. Surgical bra for about a month. I did try without but found I was too uncomfortable.

The bra with a bundle of gauze to cushion should be worn for support and protection. It also provides sense of stability.

I had bilateral mastectomy and insertion of tissue expanders 6 weeks ago. Drains were removed after 3 weeks. (Hopefully, you have camisoles with inner pockets to hold the drain bulbs.) I still wear a surgical bra to sleep in for support and comfort-
