Recovery time after cancer surgery varies greatly depending on the type of surgery, overall health, and individual healing process - some people feel better within a few weeks while others may need several months to fully recover. This community is a wonderful place to connect with others who understand the recovery journey, and many members find it helpful to share their experiences and support each other through the healing process.

I had a lumpectomy in 2018. Stage was 2b. All good news until April of this year. Started urinating blood, and they found a "cyst" on my kidney. As part of my surgical pre-screening, had a lung CT. Found 2 *suspicious" spots. My nephrectomy is scheduled for October. 6, 2025. I am terrified for my future

Had my left breast removed in March of 2024. The first two and a half to three weeks were uncomfortable but after that, every day was markedly better. Be kind to yourself - it's a lot. My cancer has returned now to the lymph nodes on the left. Be vigilant about self-exams. I found mine this time. Surgery -chemo - rafiation - then I'm going flat. I figure if there is no breast tissue, it can't come back again.

Hello Jan. I'm getting my double mastectomy done in November this year. I have opted out of reconstruction. I have been a bit overwhelmed with what I hear about recovery. The cancer was in my left breast as well. I want the absolute least change of going through this again. So I'm taking the left breast as well. I'm praying for you and hope nothing but the best for you and your family.
