I was diagnosed stage 4 mets to adrenal gland and 3 lymph nodes TNBC in june 2024. Currently on Taxol and Keytruda and doing very well. THANK you God. Tumor is less than half of its starting size. Cant tell it is even there. I have been No Evidence of Active Disease for 3 months. Oncologist wants me to meet with surgeon for 2nd opinions on surgery..which I meet with 2/21/2025. First opinion said no surgery. She was concerned surgery would set me back and I would not recover to be as good as I am now. Im 70. Has anyone had surgery for stage 4 that metastasized? Blessings to all. I can say this..a common cold sets me back. My energy/strength level is not good. Oncologist says its due to the trestments.

Surgery decisions for stage 4 cancer vary greatly from person to person, and many community members have shared experiences with different approaches - some have had surgery while others have focused on systemic treatments. The important thing is getting multiple surgical opinions, which sounds like exactly what's happening, so the medical team can weigh all the factors specific to the situation including current response to treatment and overall health.
