a year agoHas anyone experienced seromas after reconstruction? I have to have another surgery in February to remove them. Thanks

Seromas are a common concern following breast reconstruction surgery, and many community members have shared similar experiences. It's completely understandable to have questions about this additional procedure in February. Others who have gone through seroma removal may be able to offer insights about their recovery process and what to expect, so hopefully some community members will share their experiences with you.

6 months agoJessica, When I milked my drains, one of the two on my right side clogged and dislodged on day 8…. The two on my left were fine. I ended up with a small seroma but an US needle biopsy and drainage was enough to correct the concerns and the fluid and tissue remained clear of cancer and no infection. I was fortunate to go home about 16 hrs post the mastectomies with implants, and stayed with my sister, but I was able to care for myself. I also had a seroma post op a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. Surgeons told me that this is common, especially in thin patients. I pray you do well. Best wishes. 🙏
