4 months agoI'm having surgery Tuesday to have a typical carcinoid of my right lung with possible lobectomy. Has anyone had this? I'm 70 yrs old and have no family. I have no desire to have any radiation or chemotherapy. Just curious about other experiences. I have already gone through mastectomies 15 years apart. I'm just tired and don't really know why I am having this surgery. Thanks for any input .

Many people in this community have shared experiences with lung surgery and understand the mix of uncertainty and fatigue that can come with facing another procedure. Recovery experiences can vary, but having the surgery team explain what to expect beforehand often helps patients feel more prepared for the days and weeks following the procedure. This community is here to support you through whatever questions or concerns come up during your recovery journey.

2 months agoHello Susan, I was just diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor left lower lobe of my lung. Doctor says they are not sure if it’s typical or atypical, but they will do a lobectomy. I’m also almost 70, single and live alone. I’m nervous about how long I will be dependent on others when I come home from the hospital. Would love to know how yours goes when you have a chance. I’m wishing the best for you.!
