a year agoSo nervous! my mom goes tomorrow for her lumpectomy! Any insight on recovery from anyone to ease my mind?
Accepted Answer
Lumpectomy recovery typically takes about 1-2 weeks for initial healing, with most people returning to normal activities gradually during that time. It's completely natural to feel nervous before a loved one's surgery, and many community members here have walked this path and found the recovery to be manageable with proper rest and care.

6 months agoNot too bad for me. Lymph node removal was the most painful part. I found it helpful to buy a comfortable front-close cotton bra to sleep in for a while. Size up a couple of sizes.

6 months agoI had a lumpectomy 4 weeks ago. I was tired after and the next day I felt fine and had lots of energy. But the energy was short lived. For a while, I had a terrible irritation where 3 lymph nodes were removed. I say irritation for lack of a better word, it wasn’t pain or sore just irritated. I meet with my oncologist in a couple days. From the biopsy report, it looks like I won’t need chemo. Any stage of BC is scary to deal with but feeling blessed it was a small mass (19mm), no metastasis and low oncogen count. Hugs and prayers to everyone dealing with BC.
