a year agoI have started radiation treatment this past week. Not really feeling anything right now. Only have had two treatments my appointment Friday was canceled due to the weather but will start back up tomorrow. I will have treatments f5 days a week for 6 weeks. Can some of you share your experience with me? Thanks in advance 🩷🙏🏾🩷

It's completely normal to not feel much in the early days of radiation treatment - many people find that side effects, if they occur, tend to develop gradually over the course of several weeks. 6 months agoI had radiation 5 days a week for four weeks. They prescribed a steroid creme to use after each session. Was not terrible. I got radiation dermatitis the last week. The nurse gave me a creme with lidocaine and that took care of the pain. Dermatitis was gone about a week after last session but i still have skin darkening 2 months later. They warn you about fatigue but I didn’t get that much. They told me to exercise and I increased my exercise some, nothing drastic. Maybe that helped. Good luck to you.

6 months agoI had 34 sessions of radiation. My nurse recommend me to put green tea in my skin before the radiation every day. I was going 5 days a week for almost 7 weeks. It was like 4 bags of tea per cup of hot water. I used to do it at night and let sit all night. You can use a spray bottle or a cotton ball. It peeled and burned a little bit but I think it made a big difference.

6 months agoI just finished the same radiation schedule after chemo. My chest (and some of my shoulder) is very red, itchy, blotchy and peeling in spots. I used the prescribed cream and aquaphor 2x daily. I’m told it will heal in appx 3 weeks. Be diligent about the application! Other than that I tolerated the radiation well.

6 months agoI had my partial mastectomy on January 31st. Everything went well. My radiation starts in approximately 4 weeks. The chemo is pending due to gene mutation test results. Just looking at all the suggestions on this platform to prepare myself for this journey. Prayers for us all. #Survivors.
