Finding a small, movable lump can understandably cause worry, and it's completely natural to have questions about what it might be. While many lumps in the neck area can be related to lymph nodes or other benign causes, it's always best to have any new lump evaluated by a healthcare provider who can properly examine it and determine next steps if needed.

I had a small lump in my neck. I didn’t even notice it. My pulmonologist asked me does that lump hurt. My response was what lump. He said have that checked. I had it checked and after ultrasound, ct and biopsy it turned out to me cancerous. Squamous cell carcinoma in the lymph nodes. Please have the lump checked. If it’s nothing Thank God. If it’s something better to know early. Hope all turns out well for you 🙏🏻

I was just diagnosed with squamous cell cancer as well. At the base of my tongue. I start treatment Aug 11. 5 days a week for seven weeks of radiation and once a week chemo for 7 weeks. Does that sound about right ?

Hi! Michael, That sounds about right, but you have to realize everyone is different. Not all treatments are going to be the same.

Michael, mine was very similar to what you described. It is going to be hard to keep weight on because of the treatment and the swelling. I lost 35 + pounds they wanted me to eat a minimum of 2000 calories a day, which is impossible if you can’t eat solids. “Google 10 healthy smoothies for weight gain” Well Being Hub 500 -2000 has some healthy smoothies to help you maintain your weight. I hope this helps! Good luck! keep up the fight! 💪 “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”
