What's it like getting chemo before bladder cancer surgery?

I have stage II bladder cancer, and I'm learning about treatments that may be given before bladder removal surgery. One option is Gemzar (gemcitabine) plus Platinol (cisplatin), with or without Imfinzi (durvalumab). Another pairs Padcev (enfortumab vedotin-ejfv) with Keytruda (pembrolizumab). I'd love to hear from others with a similar diagnosis. - What was your experience with treatment before surgery, and what did day to day look like? - What do you wish you had known going in? Thank you for sharing anything that helped you.

Questions about chemo before bladder cancer surgery are common, and asking others what daily life looked like is a great way to prepare. Experiences differ a lot from person to person, so hearing from several members in this Surgery and Recovery community can help build a fuller picture, and it may help to write down questions for the care team about what to expect day to day. Other members who have been through treatment before bladder removal surgery are welcome to share what helped them.
