2 years agoI had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal 2 weeks ago. I have had 4 major abdominal surgeries and the pain I am experiencing with the lumpectomy is quite bad. What did others feel like two weeks post lumpectomy? Any help is appreciated.

Pain levels can vary significantly between different types of surgeries, and it's completely understandable to seek reassurance from others who have had similar experiences. Each person's recovery timeline and pain tolerance can be different, so connecting with community members who have been through lumpectomy recovery may provide helpful perspective and support during this healing process.

6 months agoI had minimal pain. Just an aching for a few days. I had one lymph node taken and tested. That incision still causes me discomfort… 10 years later.

6 months agoI had almost no pain. I don’t think I even took a Percocet. I would definitely talk to the doctor and also see a physical therapist that specializes in breast cancer related issues.

6 months agoI wore a compression bra with front closure immediately after surgery and for 3 weeks. It helped. But some days when I took it off, I would be achy. Not enough to take a pain killer tho. Fluid retention can also cause the aches. You should definitely let the doc know.

6 months agoI, too, have had multiple surgeries. My doc told me most lumpectomies go back to work in a few days... Friday surgery, back Monday. Not true ! It took me a solid week on painkillers ( I had them...the doc said tylenol !! ). It is still sore 2 years later and can't wear a bra.

6 months agoI had a lumpectomy and 3 sentinel nodes removed from the same incision almost two weeks ago. Incision is fine but the nerve damage/regeneration is not! Still taking Tylenol every six hours and icing, strangely enough, no pain when I’m sleeping!
