5 months agoI'm very new to all this I just want to throw one question out there my doctors did lab work on me a few days ago and I have a blood platelet count of 10,000 which is extremely extremely critically dangerously low he said he automatically if you have to possibility of leukemia now why would he assume leukemia just on that Hitler value of the 10,000 blood platelet count isn't there other test imaging reports bone marrow biopsy etc has to be done to confirm leukemia

A platelet count of 10,000 is indeed critically low and requires immediate attention, which explains why your doctor is considering serious conditions like leukemia as a possible cause. However, you're absolutely right that additional tests including blood work, imaging, and potentially a bone marrow biopsy would be needed to confirm any diagnosis - doctors typically investigate the most serious possibilities first to rule them out quickly. This must feel overwhelming, but asking these important questions shows you're being a good advocate for your own care.

5 months agoHi Gerald, I'm not 100 percent sure about the logistics of how they decide to come up with what they say. What I will say is, go ahead and get a second opinion. It's ok to do so. If you are unsure about anything, the more reason to do your research and get a second opinion. Doctors are not always right. Best of luck!
