a year agoI just had a mastectomy on 9/25 and the pathology came back with cancer in the margin and the 2 lymph nodes that they removed both positive for cancer. Doctor is recommending more surgery to remove all lymph nodes on that side and to take more tissue. Surgery is scheduled for 10/18. I am worried about having surgery so soon again. Anyone else go through this ?

Having a second surgery so close to the first one can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to have concerns about this timeline. Many people in this community have experienced similar situations where additional surgery was needed after pathology results, and you're not alone in feeling worried about the quick succession of procedures. The medical team is likely recommending this timing to address the findings promptly, but it's always okay to discuss your concerns and questions with your surgical team about recovery and what to expect.

7 months agoI did. I had a positive margin and had another surgery 12 days later. Unfortunately, I had a bleeder (inside breast/chest area) and had to have a third surgery the day after my second one. Although a little anemic, I did fine. Good luck to you🙏

7 months agoI have IDC HR+/HER2- but my tumor was 5.2cm which I think is why the doctor was recommending surgery instead of just radiation. I had the surgery yesterday and am doing well so far. Thanks !
