a year agoI’m coming up on 4 years and thinking about reconstruction after year 5. Interested in having fat from my belly injected into the cancer side to even things out and wondering if anyone has any experience with that?

Fat transfer reconstruction can be a meaningful option for many people looking to restore symmetry after mastectomy, and it's wonderful that you're taking time to carefully consider your choices as you approach this milestone. Many community members have shared experiences with various reconstruction approaches, so hopefully others will chime in with their insights about the fat transfer process, recovery, and results to help inform your decision.

6 months agoHi, I had a bilateral masectomy and DIEP reconstruction surgery. I had them the same way, I have to wait awhile for the finishing surgery (due to an unexpected spread to a non-sentinel lymph node-leading me to need chemo and radiation.) I really recommend the surgery, you will have a longer recovery, but I love the results!
