21 days agoHas anyone figured a way to stop or even reduce hair loss while still In treatment?

21 days agoHair loss during cancer treatment is one of the most common and distressing side effects many people face. There are some approaches like scalp cooling systems that may help reduce hair loss for certain types of chemotherapy, though results can vary from person to person. It would be worth discussing these options with your oncology team, as they can provide guidance based on your specific treatment plan and help you explore what might work best for your situation.

17 days agoMy hair started falling out not long after chemo started, now I’m bald, no eyebrows or eyelashes. My daughter’s classmate thought I was her grandmother. Having a double surgery on the 24th and then back to more chemo. Gives me hope to know my hair may grow back again!

6 days agoHi, Christianne, I used a light eyebrow pencil until my eyebrows grew back, and gel eyeliner even though I didn’t have any lashes. I’d never used them before but it made quite a difference. And yes, your eyebrows and eyelashes will grow back quickly!

3 days ago@ Mark did you lose your hair through radation or did you do chemo and lost it with that ? I dont have to do chemo thank God but set up for radation I'm really concerned with that. I will need to go back to work while doing it , I'm concerned about my energy level too. TYIA 😃

3 days agoWhere are you getting radiation Kim? One of the spots I did radiation was on my neck and the hair on my neck/lower half of my head all fell out immediately all at once. I completed radiation and I have steady fallout now from the chemo on the rest of my head but there’s some hanging on for dear life. Everyone’s different but I’d say if the radiation isn’t close to your head you might be in the clear. I’ll pray for you that you keep yours

3 days agoThank you for replying. The radation will be on my right breast. I'm confused if radation only will make your hair fall out. The fatigue comments alarm me because I'll be back to work when they start. Good luck with your process its definitely tough 💕

3 days agoI don’t believe radiation alone will make it fall out, especially that far down. And for me, I didn’t really have a lot of fatigue. Not a noticeable amount at least. However, your job should be understanding and accommodating of your situation. And if they’re not, maybe it’s a push in the right direction to be somewhere else.
