7 months agoDoes anyone know how long they have you wait from mastectomy surgery until radiation treatments? I’m getting ready to see radiologist. Thx
Accepted Answer
The timing between mastectomy and radiation typically ranges from 4-8 weeks, though this can vary based on healing progress and individual treatment plans. The radiologist will be able to provide specifics based on recovery status and overall treatment timeline, so it's great that appointment is coming up soon to get those answers directly from the care team.

6 months agoI just saw my surgeon today….I’m having lumpectomy with reconstructive surgery. I was told radiation would begin 2 months after surgery. I hope this helps and gives you a general idea with your mastectomy. Good luck for fast and smooth recovery!

6 months agoI had a lumpectomy and oncoplasty (reduction) for symmetry to both sides. I started radiation exactly 4 weeks after surgery. That’s not full mastectomy, but does give an example of timeline.
