What to do about infection and swollen leg after hysterectomy surgery?

I am 2 weeks after a full hysterectomy with lymph node dissection and vulvar cyst removal so now I have an infection with the stitches from the cyst removal. I’m feeling sore to painful at times so I am waiting to hear from the nurse in how to proceed (see the Dr or go to the ER) since my left leg is swollen. At this point, I am concerned to feeling what is next.

Waiting to hear back from the nurse about next steps sounds like the right approach, especially with both the infection and leg swelling occurring after such a complex procedure. Post-surgical complications can understandably feel overwhelming, but reaching out to your medical team shows you're taking the right steps to address these concerns promptly. Many others in this community have navigated similar recovery challenges, so please feel free to share updates or ask questions as you work through this healing process.

I had my surgery Aug. the 14th and I still get some soreness and pain sometimes. Hopefully they’ll get you in since your leg is swollen. Good luck. Let me know how it turns out
