I had my 1st Dx in 2005 in my left breast had radiation and a lumpectomy . I got it again in right breast in 2016had lumpectomy and radiation on that breast the in 2022 they found another in left side had bilateral mastectomy with deep tissue transfer from my stomach. Was a very tough surgery for me . I’m doing ok but did not expect the pain and nerve damage I have this long . I am in constant pain and now having trouble with my shoulder and my skin under my breast they are telling me it’s from the radiation I don’t know if anyone else has had this kind of issue.i would love to know . Thanks

Radiation-related skin changes and nerve pain can unfortunately persist long after treatment, especially after multiple procedures and radiation sessions to the same areas. Many patients in this community have shared similar experiences with ongoing discomfort following complex reconstructive surgeries. It's encouraging to hear from your care team about potential causes, and connecting with others who've faced comparable challenges might provide helpful insights and support during your recovery journey.
