How long does breast reconstruction typically take?

Has anyone had a long reconstruction process? I had DIEP first, then phase 2, and 5 months later, I had TDAP. My surgeon suggested phase 2, the revision, but I’m tired of people asking am I finished having surgeries.

Breast reconstruction timelines vary widely, and having multiple phases over several months is quite common for many patients. The questions from others about being "finished" can feel overwhelming when recovery is already emotionally and physically demanding. Many community members find it helpful to set boundaries about discussing their medical journey, and remember that your healing process moves at its own pace regardless of others' expectations.
