Has anyone been diagnosed with epithelial carcinoma of the salivary gland? Or, aka, carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma? If so, what was your treatment strategy?

This is a rare type of salivary gland cancer, and connecting with others who have faced similar diagnoses can provide valuable insights and support. Treatment approaches often vary based on factors like tumor location, stage, and individual patient circumstances, so experiences shared here may help inform discussions with your medical team. One of my dear friends just had surgery last week to remove cancer in her salivary glands. She hasn't gotten her results back from pathology yet, so not sure what type of cancer she had. I will post again as soon as I find out.

Thank you! It looks like i will have 6 weeks of radiation, 5 times a week after I have a root canal. Apparently, you shouldn't have a tooth pulled afterwards. Chemo is not an option for this cancer. Best to you and your friend.🙏🏾
