Is there anyone out there who has cancer that isn't Breast Cancer? I am recovering from Colon Cancer surgery and have many questions and fears. But the only information I can find on this is about Breast Cancer. If there are any chat rooms I can talk to people who are going through Colon Cancer, please drop me di directions where to find it. Thank you. Donna Bellissimo

Finding colon cancer support groups can feel challenging when so much attention goes to other cancer types, but there are many dedicated communities and resources specifically for colorectal cancer patients. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and Colon Cancer Coalition all offer online support groups and forums where patients share experiences and offer encouragement during treatment and recovery.

I'm so sorry to hear that. How are you feeling? I'm in FL, where are you?

If you have medical related questions (as opposed to mental health and moral support, which of course is critical to good outcomes) I would recommend colontown. Not the greatest name, but there people share very specific questions related to different variations of colorectal cancer and the plethora chemotherapies and other treatments available.

Thank you Thomas. The Lord has a plan for everyone, but if you heard mine you would wonder how I can still put life in his hands. But I do and I love and trust him.

I just had colon cancer surgery. Stage 3 but when they got in there they removed 28 lymph nodes of which 12 were cancer then they found a tumor hiding on my abdominal wall (peritoneum cancer) waiting to get my port next week to start chemo.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in 2025, and one thing that surprised me was how difficult it was to find support groups specifically for women with colon cancer—even at City of Hope, where I’m being treated. Most events and support groups for female cancer patients and survivors understandably focus on breast cancer. While Colontown wasn’t the right fit for me, I was fortunate to connect with a fellow colon cancer survivor through Imerman Angels, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for one-on-one peer support.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in January and had to have emergency surgery. I'm now undergoing chemo treatment.

My cancer is treatable but not curable. The colon cancer came as peritoneal cancer had spread. The ostomy took care of the colon cancer. Good luck. I will be on chemo til it quits working. Not a lot of treatments available. I have way outlived the expectations I was given. I am on year 3. I was told 6 months if do nothing and maybe 12 months is do chemo. I have done well. Not nauseous or in pain. I have tried many combinations.

Gayle ... I was told I have stage 3/4 metastic colon cancer. Diagnosed March 26th. Surgery May 15th. Removed tumor in the sigmoid colon, 28 lymph nodes, 12 full of cancer and the rest had cells, then they found a tumor hiding on my peritoneum. CT shows I have 3 spots on my lungs and one in my left breast but they arent even focusing on them at this point. I hurt EVERYWHERE! I just got my port put in yesterday June 24th. Start 2 chemos on July 6th. Have never had a PET scan yet.

2023 diagnosed with Stage 1 rectal cancer. Polyp removal. 6 mo later new polyp and stage 3. Radiation then chemo in ‘24. SBRT radiation on a lymph node in my rectum and one in my lung. Scans look good now! I have my tumor DNA tested on a regular basis. It has helped find several issues before they could get bad. I would be happy to answer any questions! God is good and won’t leave or forsake us!

Peggy what 2 chemo combinations are you starting with? Taxol and carboplatin? The peritoneal is tricky like you said the cancer cells can hide in there. 8 in one million get peritoneal cancer so it is rare and hard to treat. Research money is spent on more common cancers. There are some news things coming along. They treat ovarian and peritoneal cancer the same way. Did you have a hysterectomy? I don’t think I had any lymph nodes removed. Mine are around the omentom ( misspelled) the fatty layer around the stomach. So far not spreading to organs. What is your CA125? Cancer marker. Good luck it is a rough journey. Sorry are in pain.

They are starting ne on Oxaliplatin with Leucovorin Calcium mixed in....then I leave with Fluorouracil (5FU) attached for 2 days. Not sure what my CA125 is??? Im so new to everything, not sure where I find that info? I did have a complete hysterectomy when I was 31 in 2000 from uterine cancer (severe endometriosis pre form cancer) no treatments needed back then. 57 now and complained for 2 years of alot of pelvic pain, bloating, constant urge to make a bowel movement, waking me at night so much pain but my family doctor just kept putting me off because I have fibromyalgia. So by the time I convinced her to get me a colonoscopy approved it was already metastasized.
