Blood clots can occur after any major surgery, including lung procedures, due to factors like reduced mobility and the body's healing response. This is definitely something to discuss with your surgical team, as they can best assess your specific situation and provide guidance on prevention or treatment options if needed.

Everybody is different. I was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC that spread to the pleural space around my lung. A thoracentesis drainage one liter of fluid off, but there’s more forming. A few days later a blood clot was found in my right lung. Now I’m on Eliquis 2X a day forever. My lower left lung hasn’t reinflated properly, it looks cloudy on an X-ray. Now I’m on oxygen much of the day.
