9 months agoI had can er on the left side, had a mastectomy on that side. Getting ready for reconstruction and considering having a mastectomy on the other side. Has anyone done this?? Success??

Many people face similar decisions about preventive mastectomy, and it's completely natural to seek out others' experiences when considering such an important choice. This community has members who have walked various paths with their surgical decisions, and their insights can be really valuable as you weigh your options alongside your medical team's guidance.

7 months agoI had my breast cancer on the right side but instead the mastectomy only on that side I decided to have the Surgeon remove both of them at the same time. I have a friend that only removed the one breast only to have the cancer come back again on the other side. Was the best decision I ever made removing both.

7 months agoGlad you were able to make the best decision for YOU! We just have to do what we think makes the most sense to us. That can be different for each person and that’s ok. Good luck!!
