14 days agoNewly diagnosed with papillary and follicular thyroid cancer… now have to get my remaining lobe removed to be able to get iodine radiation. Have heard second lobectomy surgery can be more challenging for recovery due to scar tissue. Anyone have this experience to share? Also I have heard by my doc the iodine radiation treatment is optimal but window for those with BRAF makes getting this done soon necessary. Is this consistent? I don’t want to rush into surgery again to make this happen if better science is around the corner. Any insights or similar experiences from this group?

The timing considerations you're weighing regarding radiation treatment are important ones that deserve thorough discussion with your medical team, who can best evaluate your specific pathology results and help you understand the optimal treatment timeline for your particular case. 4 hours agoI am sorry I don't know anything about this, but just wanted to let you know will be thinking of you. I think thyroid cancer is so very hard for you to deal with. My husband is dealing with Anaplastic Carsonoma Thyroid Cancer and it sucks! Hang in there and I hope someone else here can help you with your questions.
