What's the typical treatment order for stage 4 triple negative breast cancer?

Just diagnosed with Stage lV triple negative metastatic breast cancer, lesions are scored as three, very aggressive. I have no idea what to expect. Wondering if they’ll do mastectomy first or after treatment is done.

How do I prepare for chemo side effects?

I’m 65 and I was diagnosed stage 1 TNBC on 7Jul. Was told it was 7mm. I had a lumpectomy 29July. I was to have radiation after they moved my pacemaker since my cancer is in my left breast. Final pathology came back as the mass being 1.2cm. Had a port put in 19Aug, still having pain with it. I begin chemo 28Aug of TC ( docetaxel and cytoxan) of 4 rounds every 21 days. I cut a foot off my hair last week hoping to not lose it but if I lose it, it’s just hair and will grow back (would be nice if blond and curly like my son’s). Any advice would be greatly appreciated while I go on this next part of my journey. I’m grateful it was found early but not looking forward to side effects.

I'm currently taking Arimidex (anastrozole) for breast cancer and dealing with multiple side effects. I'm having very severe hot flashes, joint and bone pain, fatigue, and severe anxiety with emotional distress. My doctor explained that these symptoms are commonly linked to this medication since it works by lowering estrogen levels. Why do I need lumpectomy before mastectomy?

Hi Everyone! At the beginning of February I was diagnosed with stage 1 TNBC, but grade 3 (fast spreading), so my Oncologist recommended chemo before surgery. I did my 4 infusions of Red Devil and just last week completed my 12th infusion of Taxol. In a few weeks I am scheduled to have a lumpectomy and breast reduction. Then, after 3 months I will have a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery at the same time. At the beginning of my journey, the 2 surgeries seemed to make sense based on the Surgeon and Oncologists reasoning, but now I’m starting to question it more. Honestly I can’t remember what their explanation was (chemo brain!), but as more people ask about it, I’m wondering too. If I am having everything taken off, what is the point of a lumpectomy? Why can’t I just have the one surgery and be done? Has anyone else had a similar treatment plan to mine? I feel like mines all backwards…

Has anyone taken Capecitabine for triple negative breast cancer?

I also have triple negative breast cancer. Have had surgery, both breast removed. Found out that I have a 45% chance of it coming back. Going to be on a drug, Capecitabine, has any one been on it?
