5 months ago5 weeks out from chemo and taste buds still are not working right lol, when did others get their taste buds back? Anything that helped? Thanks!

Taste changes after chemotherapy can take several months to fully resolve, with many people noticing gradual improvement between 2-6 months post-treatment. Some find that staying hydrated, trying different seasonings or temperature variations, and maintaining good oral hygiene can help during the recovery process - hopefully others in the community will share what worked for them during this frustrating but temporary phase.

5 months agoUgh, yeah, that took awhile and it kind of snuck up one me. I found the only things I could really taste was sweets, so I was drawn to chocolates & deserts! After 3 months, my taste has returned :) So far Xeloda hasn’t taken my sense of taste away.

5 months agoI am 7 weeks done chemo, and tastes coming back slowly. I have always loved sweets, but now candy snd pastries are TOO sweet! I have cravings for salty olives and kosher hot dogs! Still waiting to savor lobster once again. Just keep trying things, and I believe you will soon get your tastes back!

5 months agoYes, just like that disgusting metal taste with Covid, my taste buds were altered with chemo for months. Chocolate tasted just fine:) Hang in there. It gets better.
