a year agoHi. Has anyone made the decision to not take the steroids they give you during chemo? I’m doing my 8th round today. I go once a week for treatment. Carboplaten and Taxil and get Keytruda once every 3 weeks. Starting to have a reaction to the carboplaten but also trying to avoid the steroids because they’re causing issues with my eyes (pressure and vision) and also weight gain.

This sounds like a challenging situation with the side effects affecting your quality of life. Many patients in this community have faced similar decisions about managing treatment side effects, and it's completely understandable to have concerns about the steroids' impact on your vision and weight. The best step would be to discuss these specific side effects with your oncology team - they may have alternative options or adjustments that could help reduce these problems while still protecting you during treatment.

7 months agoHi Nancy, I’m on the same meds and I’m experiencing low level reactions while on steroids. This sounds like a risk vs benefit discussion to have with your doctor. Maybe there is something other than steroids??
