8 months agoHas anyone got a bad rash from Keytruda? Itchy red bump with large dark spots all over arms, legs and chest. Concerned about infection
Accepted Answer
Skin reactions can be a concerning side effect with immunotherapy treatments like Keytruda, and it's completely understandable to worry about potential infection when dealing with new or worsening symptoms. Many people in this community have shared experiences with various treatment-related skin changes, so reaching out to connect with others who may have similar experiences is a great step - just make sure to contact your healthcare team right away about any new symptoms, especially if you're concerned about infection.

6 months agoI had blister type bumps on my face in addition to painful pimples around my nose. I just treated my face with care and good lotion. As I got used to it, it reduced a lot.

6 months agoI had itchy bumps on my arms and legs. Not a lot. My doctor gave me Kenalog ointment. That cleared them up. I’m two years out from treatment and I still have very sensitive skin and still get the occasional bumps. I still use the Kenalog cream when I get them. Talk to your doctor if you have not already.

6 months agoCheryl, I have 5 diagnosed autoimmune conditions (pernicious anemia, autoimmune gastritis with precancerous stomach, psoriasis, autoimmune neutropenia, Sjogren’s disease) and due to these conditions, I was told immunotherapy is not advised and could severely harm me. I’m BRCA 2 positive and have an aggressive triple negative cancer. I had the advised double mastectomies for my cancer aggressiveness with Ki 95%, was negative tested nodes in surgery but still metastasis to blood and one axillary node. I completed a year of chemotherapy, 15 radiation treatments, and am on a PARP inhibitor to date, Lynparza. Overall I am doing well, pushing myself to aggressive walking daily 10 miles plus and healthy habits. My advise is to definitely show Oncologist your rash and I wish you the very best 🙏

6 months agoI had what seemed to be hives from top of head to palms of hands and feet. My oncologist wouldn't prescribe anything because steroids are their go for conditions like that (they explained that they want your immune system active, and steroids dappen it down) I took Allegra Hives that helped some with it and after 4 days just some residual redness but my palms itched for days after. My next chemo, I was talking with an 85 year old getting Keytruda and she said her palms itched badly for a few days, so it doesn't seem uncommon, especially after the first dose

6 months agoYes, they took me off of it and then it killed my pancreas making me a Type 1 Diabetic. Wish I never got it and I only had it once

6 months agoSo very scary. I was upset when I was told that I couldn’t receive immunotherapy because of my autoimmune problems, but I am hearing about so many concerns if the medication is not advised.

6 months agoI was on Keytruda during chem and didn’t have a problem. After chemo my doctor continued Keytruda and I started having a terrible rash. I have been off Keytruda since December and still continue to have the rash. Doctor prescribed clobetasol propionate cream and it helps. Wish I knew how long this rash will continue🤦♀️

6 months agoI had raised bumps on the back of my left hand and it itched like crazy. I told my oncologist and he postponed the Keytruda for on week and it cleared up. It hasn’t happened since. I have one more treatment of chemo but will continue Keytruda until the end of November. Still have surgery for a lumpectomy and radiation to go through too.
