Hello Fellow Warriors! Have any of you gone in for a chemo port placement and they couldn't do it? I went in 3 days ago to have the surgeon do it and my veins wouldn't cooperate during the procedure. Now radiology wants to try but I wanted to be out for it which is why I went with the surgeon to begin with. XOXO

This sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when dealing with difficult veins can make an already stressful situation even more challenging. Many patients face similar issues with port placement, and exploring different approaches with radiology might offer a good alternative solution. Consider discussing sedation options with the radiology team, as they may be able to accommodate your preference for being comfortable during the procedure while using their specialized techniques for challenging vein access.
