3 months agoI'm learning about the different types of ongoing care during my breast cancer journey. My medical team explained that there are two main parts that work together - monitoring to watch for any signs of cancer returning and track overall health, and supportive care to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life throughout treatment and recovery. I'm trying to understand what this looks like in real life and would love to hear from others who have been through this. • What has your experience been like with monitoring visits and supportive care during treatment? • Are there any tips or things you wish you had known about balancing these two aspects of care? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences and any insights you might have.

3 months agoYour questions about monitoring and supportive care are so important as you navigate your treatment journey. Many community members find that regular monitoring appointments become a reassuring routine, helping track progress and catch any changes early, while supportive care services like nutrition counseling, social work, and symptom management can make a huge difference in day-to-day comfort and wellbeing. The combination of both types of care working together often helps patients feel more confident and supported throughout their treatment - hopefully others here will share their experiences and practical tips with you.

3 months agoI wish I could get support. I became septic from my port in mid April and have not even had a phone call from my doctor. Sad. Trying to find another way to finish this journey.

a month agoSorry to hear this Nancy. Everyone needs support during this journey. It is very difficult to manage cancer alone. I feel that is why this group is so important in order to obtain support. Log in anytime you feel alone or ask a question we are all in the same journey. God bless you
