a year agoHas anyone seen CA 27 29 markers elevate weeks after end of Chemotherapy, but be false? My markers from the get go were 50s. I’m 3 weeks post completion of aggressive doses of Xeloda (Capacitabine) at 1500 mg every 12 hours on 3 month schedule. Prior I had 3 months of IV Carbo/Taxol weekly, followed by 3 months of Adriamycin/Cytoxan every 2 weeks. I’m aware chemo can elevate levels and Oncology states others have false readings, but I’m shaken that 3 weeks post a regime, I’m re elevating… but I’ve never been at a normal level. Dr is starting me on a PARP, Lynparza, at a low dose soon.

CA 27-29 marker fluctuations after chemotherapy can definitely be concerning, and many patients in the triple-negative breast cancer community have shared similar experiences with marker elevations that don't always reflect disease activity. The timing and intensity of treatment regimens like yours can influence these levels in various ways, which is why oncologists often look at trends over time rather than individual results. Consider sharing your concerns and questions about the timing with your medical team, and know that others here understand the anxiety that comes with unexpected marker changes during this phase of treatment.

6 months agoAdditionally Dr is having radiation oncologist assess me for possible radiation soon. My cancerous node regressed to nothing and my node was removed… tested now benign. BRCA made my cancer very aggressive.
