I am starting chemotherapy next week, I was wondering if anyone out there has been treated with DOCEtaxel Cyclophosphamide, and if so what side effects did you experience?

Starting a new treatment can bring up many questions about what to expect. Many community members have shared their experiences with various chemotherapy regimens, and side effects can vary quite a bit from person to person. Consider connecting with others here who may have similar treatment experiences, and remember that your healthcare team is the best resource for preparing you for what's ahead and managing any effects that come up.

Hello I have been on DOCEtaxel for 3 months and I only have dry mouth and I try and stay hydrated with drinks, ice and popsicles, also loss of appetite which is normal to me. I am also on CARBOplatin and with both nothing different I been sleepy after treatments.Wish you luck.

Thanks Denise, I start on October first if all goes well. My reservation is how it will affect my heart, because I have some issues with my heart (vasospasm, angina, Left Bundle Branch Block). I hope that the benefits will outweigh the side effects.

Neuropathy is real and no fun. Please look into using cold therapy. I had infusions every week from December 5 through the end of February. Now I’m in a clinical trial because the Taxol stopped working and the neuropathy is getting much worse. I have always used cold therapy and never missed a session but got it anyway. But I have to say I am doing pretty well. I am not sick to my stomach. If they give you Keytruda watch out it’s a bit tricky. I got a pretty big side effect from that. It killed my cortisol production now I’m on steroids for the rest of my life so they say I’m going to try to ease off them one at a time to see if my adrenal glands will cooperate again. I wish you luck the first time is the hardest you meet the best people in those rooms though people struggling, smiling praying just the best people in the world. Good luck, Godspeed.
