3 months agoI was just diagnosed with Triple Negative Metaplastic breast cancer. I am stage 1-2A . My care team wants to start me on Keynote 522. I’m scared , has anyone else had the same diagnosis!

3 months agoThis diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and reaching out to connect with others who understand is a meaningful step. While metaplastic breast cancer is less common than other types, there are community members here who have faced similar paths and may share their experiences. The feelings of fear around starting a new treatment are completely natural, and many in this community have found comfort in connecting with others who truly understand what this journey feels like.

3 months agoI had Triple Negative but not Metaplastic. Sorry I can’t offer any advice but I will sure pray for you to have complete healing and to find people to give you advice.

2 months agoI’m TN stage 3, metaplastic. I did keynote 22, about to finish. Fear is part of this process. It’s ok to acknowledge it but not let it win. Your brain will bring back whatever misconception you feed it. I was so afraid of chemo and ended up having barely any symptoms. I’m afraid of the upcoming bilateral mastectomy but I know the expectation is always worse than reality. I’m thankful I can opt for reconstruction with a great team of doctors. You will beat this. You will overcome this. Much love to you.

2 months ago@Miroslava, I am two sessions into my chemo of keynote 522. Did you not have any issues with phase 2 of treatment either?

2 months agoI am about to do my 6th round of keynote 522 , I have not had any bad symptoms other than hot flashes from the Lupron injection. With cold capping I have been able to keep 70% of my hair thus far. My tumor shrank 50% after the first 3 rounds so I’m at trying to stay positive an hopeful !!! I do start my AC round at the end of August , I hope that does the trick ! I am going to meet with my surgeon at the end of July to hopefully find out what the next step plans are , I don’t know yet if I want to do bilateral but I think it might be the best way to go ! Metaplastic is so rare! And aggressive so I know I have to take the most aggressive approach !
