Side effects from chemotherapy can appear at different times - some may show up within hours or days after treatment, while others might take weeks to develop. It's wonderful that the pre-medications are working well and helping prevent early side effects. Keep in touch with your care team about how you're feeling as you move forward with treatment, and know that this community is here to support you through every step of your journey.

Corliss - don’t just drink water. You will deplete your electrolytes and feel worse. Be sure to drink beverages that contain electrolytes, like apple juice, Gatorade, Pedialyte popsicles, Liquid IV, or LMNT. I find the Liquid IV and LMNT too salty for my taste. I have been told to dilute it in a lot more water than is recommended on the packets, but I haven’t tried it yet. Also some other things that count towards your hydration: applesauce, jello, smoothies, decaf tea. Staying hydrated is the biggest challenge for me too. I usually feel great the day of treatment and the next day. Then Days 3 & 4 are typically difficult for me to drink and eat. Hope this helps!! 😊

Thanks Lori, I have been using the Pedialyte, Gatorade, and smoothies. I have also started a multivitamin (Centrum Silver Plus). This has given me more energy.
