Just got pulled off the xeloda. Bad reaction for the 2nd time but this one kept me in hospital for 9 days. Going to bathroom up to 30+ times a day. Had to log it. With 4 medications and morphine every 4 hours for the pain. All my organs were inflamed. My body couldn't handle it even at a half dose. Finally home feeling about 30% better. Dr says it will take a good while to get over this.

What a frightening and challenging experience to endure such a severe reaction requiring hospitalization and multiple interventions. When treatments like Xeloda cause serious side effects, doctors typically work with patients to explore alternative treatment options that may be better tolerated, though recovery from severe reactions can indeed take time as the body heals. Sending support as you continue recovering - please keep your medical team informed about how you're feeling during this process.
