3 years agoDid any of you with TNBC get genetic testing done after your dx? I didn’t but I just read an article that chemo choices are often different depending on your specific mutations or lack of one. Any insights here?

Genetic testing can be really valuable for understanding treatment options with TNBC, and it's great that you're looking into this now. Many people in this community have found that discussing genetic testing with their oncologist helped guide their treatment decisions, so you might want to bring up what you read with your care team to see if testing could be beneficial for your specific situation.

6 months agoI am receiving neoadjuvant chemo and just got my genetic testing back. It's positive for the BRACA2 gene. As Garland mentioned, my understanding is that it won't change the chemotherapy. It more directs your surgical options that will be recommended. And it has just solidified my choice to have a bilateral mastectomy.

6 months agoI am undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy. That means chemo precedes surgical options. My genetic testing results came in after my fourth round of chemo so it had no bearing on the drug therapy prescribed. The test was negative but had it been positive, in my opinion, it would have only affected my surgical options. I hope I understood your question and helped. 😊
