Should I be worried about my triple-negative breast cancer treatment plan?

Had double mastectomies after diagnosis of DCIS with invasive TNBC (1a). Fortunately it was small with negative nodes and margins. Was told no chemo or radiation needed. Should I be concerned given it was TNBC?

It's completely understandable to have questions about treatment decisions, especially with triple-negative breast cancer where treatment approaches can vary based on specific factors like stage and tumor characteristics. Many patients in this community have found it helpful to discuss their concerns directly with their oncology team, as they have access to the complete picture of pathology results and staging information that guides these important decisions.

How small was your? I have a similar situation. Biopsy found only 3mm of TN IDC with DCIS, so surgery was recommended first. At surgery, another 3mm of TN IDC was left with 2 cm of DCIS and ALH (not sized). Other breast actually had 8 cm HR+/HER2- DCIS and 3mm invasive mucinous carcinoma!!! I have no idea now if I'll be doing chemo or rads or WHAT?!? Appointment with MO is next Thursday.
