25 days agoI just finished 5 weeks of radiation therapy for endometrial cancer. Had hysterectomy 2 yrs ago but a tumor came back on my vaginal cuff. Have to go for a mri in couple weeks to see if hopefully tumor shrunk. Then after 1st of yr going to Mass general hospital in Boston for a couple more treatments of brachytherapy. Which I am nervous about. Has anyone else gone through that. Would appreciate if you could tell me what to expect. My prayers are with all who are going through cancer. Stay strong. ❤️

25 days agoBrachytherapy is a common and effective treatment for vaginal cuff recurrence, and while it's completely natural to feel nervous about any new procedure, many patients find it more manageable than expected. The treatment team at Mass General will walk through exactly what to expect and ensure comfort throughout the process - hopefully others in this community who have experience with brachytherapy will share their insights to help ease those pre-treatment jitters.

19 days agoYes, I had brachytherapy. I had three rounds of it. It was kind of scary at first but the Dr and the staff made very comfortable. My Dr has had good luck with the brachytherapy and Ido trust him. I was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer in June 2025. Stage 1C but the kind is serous carcinoma. Serous is very aggressive cancer the Drs tell me it will come back. I had a hysterectomy and started chemo in August. I’ve had 4 chemotherapy treatments and the brachytherapy radiation. I have 2 more chemo left and they do a CT scan. Hopefully there won’t be any cancer left. Joyce you will do fine with brachytherapy.

13 days agoIt's good to know brachytherapy was painless. I was very nervous about that. My first treatment will be 1/6, then I have 2 on 1/7, and 1 on 1/8. A total of 4 all together. I am told I can go home on 1/8. Did you have any problems when you left hospital?

11 days agoI just had a robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. It was a complete hysterectomy and also 2 lymph nodes removed. My surgeon reported that he is concerned about a muscle and wants me to have radiation therapy 5x / week for 5 weeks. I am so hesitant after reading the possible outcomes. Can anyone tell me anything positive?

2 days agoI was diagnosed with serous endometrial cancer, a very aggressive cancer, the end of 2021. I had a full hysterectomy in January 2022 followed by six chemotherapy treatments (Carbo and Taxol) and then three internal radiation treatments, which I completed the end of August 2022. After completing treatments, I had a CT with contrast January 2023 which showed no cancer. I was good for about two years. Unfortunately, the cancer came back, as shown on a CT scan with contrast, in January 2025 and is now on my abdominal lining that covers my major organs. I had a liver biopsy to confirm the serous cancer. The tumor board was consulted to see if surgery was a good option. It was decided that it would be an extensive surgery due to its location so I had six chemo treatments plus an additional three treatments. There was improvement during the first six treatments but then no noticeable improvement between the last few treatments. The treatments were affecting my hemoglobin (needed another two pints of blood) and my platelets so I am now on Keytruda. I am scheduled for another CT scan with contrast and should find out how to proceed. Hopefully, the Keytruda is at least keeping the cancer at bay until they figure out what my next step will be. Unfortunately, they said they do not have a target chemo yet for my type of cancer which is not as common as others. If anyone is experiencing serous cancer, I would appreciate any input you may have. Thank you. Janet

17 hours agoHad my last brachytherapy treatment today. It was not as bad as I thought. I decided to have epidermal for pain. So I did not feel anything. Had it done at MA General Hosp . A big thumbs up for all medical staff there 👍 Thank you.
