Is 8 weeks too long to wait for cancer treatment?

Waiting for treatment after surgery can feel incredibly stressful, especially with concerns about timing. I have stage 3B clear cell endometrial cancer. I waited 6 weeks to start radiation. They need you to heal from surgery. I was also concerned since it’s aggressive. One day at a time.

I had a D&C surgery to scrape cells from a uterine tumor on 8/26, was diagnosed with stage 2B endometrial cancer on 8/28, had a full hysterectomy and 7 lymph nodes removed (non cancerous) on 9/14, and post op visit on 9/29 where i was upgraded to stage 3B cancer with it getting through 87% of the uterine wall. I was referred to a radiologist, and I am waiting on their call to se up an initial office visit followed by 5 weeks of 5 days per week 10 minute each radiation treatment. I’m pleased with my Cancer team and how fast they moved to remove the cancer from my body and I am here to learn from others about their journey.
