16 days agoPreparing for chemotherapy can feel overwhelming, but taking practical steps beforehand can help make the process more manageable. Consider focusing on building your support system, preparing your home environment for comfort during treatment, discussing side effect management with your care team, and taking care of your nutritional and emotional well-being before starting. Many others in this community have navigated similar treatments and may have valuable insights to share about what helped them through this journey.

14 days agoI think it’s a good idea to bring something to read or do during the chemo. Also will you be using a cold cap and cooling therapy during the procedure? If so I actually had to include a set of gloves with my ice packs as the ice got very cold.

14 days agoI found it helpful to fast that day. I always took something to do but with the high dose of Benadryl always fell asleep. Have someone with you. Don't go alone.

4 days agoI’m a year out from 3c chemo. My tips are for at home. My coworkers game me a “chemo basket” and it meant the world to me. Good idea to have a few things ready on hand such as ginger drops in case your stomach feels icky some days…really helped me. Maybe some plastic utensils in case food tastes metallic…mine only lasted a week. A portfolio to compartmentalize all your paperwork from different doctor’s visits/insurance papers. Kept my lidocaine (for chemo port) in it. Whatever else you might want close at hand. The biggest thing that changed my life was going to Silver Sneakers a month after I finished. Drastically improved my balance and well-being. I still try to go 4 days a week. God bless.
