a month agotoday's been a rough day, Monday is my surgery, complete hysterectomy, possible bladder resection, 2 Sentinel nodes, ovaries, cervix, fallopian tubes, omentum, whole 9 yards. I was diagnosed Dec 28th, my gynecologist called me on a Sunday! As I have a large tumor they can't do it vaginally so belly button down. I am a widow with a cat who won't understand where I am, my hospital is 1 1/2 hours away, my kids are taking me to hospital, I have to be there at 5:30 a.m., and now there's this freaking snow storm. I no I am overreacting, I just feel like every has spun out of control. Thank you for listening, any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

a month agoFeeling overwhelmed before major surgery is completely natural, especially when dealing with so many uncertainties at once. Many people find it helpful to focus on what they can control - like preparing comfort items for recovery, arranging care for pets, and having backup plans for weather-related delays. The medical team is experienced with these procedures and will take good care during surgery, while connecting with others in this community who've been through similar experiences can provide valuable perspective and encouragement.

a month agoBreathe. You will get through this and home to your cat too! I've had three surgeries in 4 years two cancer and one hernia resulting from two zipper down middle surgeries. They are no fun. But I healed. Trust your team and keep advocating for your needs. Get answers. Take it all one step at a time. Sending lots of positive thoughts

a month agomy surgery was the 26th and I came home yesterday. Sore but feeling decent. Listen to your nurses and drink all the water you can before and after surgery because constipation from anesthesia and opioids is no joke. Luckily the cancer had not infiltrated my bladder so that was good news, but when they did a pelvic wash before they closed me up they found 2 cancer cells so not sure what's next. But the big tumor and ovaries etc are gone. All in all, listen to your nurses, take care of yourself, mind and body. Good luck and let us know how it goes. 🌸🌼🌻🌺

19 days agook met with surgeon yesterday - i have Endometrial Endometroid adenocarcinoma FIGO grade 3. The treatment plan is 6 treatments, 3 weeks in between. I will be receiving radiation with radioactive beads inserted into my vaginally, in a carrier, for 20 minutes, good times. I will also be receiving Taxol infusions, I will also be losing my hair which bothers me the most, weird. Once the 6 treatments are done I will be on Keytruda for 2 years. I forgot to ask but assume I will be having a port installed. Overwhelming doesn't quite cover my feelings. Waiting for oncologist to contact me to get the ball rolling. I have had no major issues with surgery and as all my lymph nodes and margins were clear and the cat scan showed no metastasis I plan on trying to be positive and trust my team. Anyone have any hints about either treatments please share, good or bad. None of us want to be here, yet here we are. Personally I would rather be sitting poolside at a resort in Florida. Thanks for listening to my ramble. Good luck to all of us!!
