These are common concerns that many people in this community share after completing treatment. Fatigue can persist for months or even years following radiation, and the timeline varies significantly from person to person. Vaginal changes, including narrowing, are also well-documented effects that can occur after pelvic radiation treatment. Others here have likely experienced similar challenges and may have helpful insights to share about what has worked for them in managing these ongoing effects.

When I finished radiation, the oncologist prescribed a vaginal dilator to avoid narrowing. Ask your oncologist.

Not apparent narrowing but now have a vaginal polyp. I’m assuming it’s caused by radiation (Dr Google). I’m 18 months out and my oncologist just asked me about fatigue. My B12 was in the low end of normal and she likes it in the middle. Just told me to get otc B12 vitamins. I’m sure they’re checking it with your labs. You might want to ask.

ask your doctor for vaginal dilator. It’s designed to keep your vaginal from shrinking.

I had 5 weeks of outer beam radiation Nov - Dec 2025 then in January 2026 4 treatments of brachytherapy treatments. I was told to use a vaginal dialator several times a week for about a year. Vaginal narrowing is one of the side effects of radiation in the pelvis area. I have a tumor on my vaginal cuff. I still get tired from time to time but that's getting a lot better. When I do I just nap. The good news is the tumor is starting to shrink ! I still have to take follow-up scans every couple of months but I am staying positive. I am also starting to eat certain foods again. My Dr told me to be patient . Good luck to you I am sure things will get better. ❤️
