Has anyone tried ctDNA blood test for cancer monitoring?

I've have three clear ct scans after 4 years on off endometrial cancer in uterus, two years later in vaginal cuff , then pelvic nodes. All cleared up with chemo Keytruda not tolerated. Been in 2 studies and remain in one until I know where I stand. So now I am getting a pet scan Feb 26, and new to me blood test called ctDNA that looks for dna in blood that matches stored tumor dna. My question is has anyone used this blood test and how did it go? Getting drawn Thursday.

The ctDNA blood test is becoming more common for cancer monitoring, and many patients find it helpful as an additional tool alongside imaging scans. It sounds like you're taking a comprehensive approach to monitoring with both the PET scan and this blood test, which can provide valuable information to your medical team. Hopefully other community members who have experience with ctDNA testing will share their insights to help answer your question about how the process went for them.

I have 2 ctdna tests and both were negative. I've also had 3 NEAD ct scans. I have Stage 4 uterine cancer (since 2023). I've been on Enhertu for almost 18 months and it's been a game changer for me.

Anonymous user can I ask if you are now considered cancer Free after 2 negative ctDNA ? Is the enhertu maintenance. Stating you have stage 4 I'm a little confused where you are now. Thanks for commenting too

I'm not sure why it's posting as anonymous - my name is Laurie btw. Nead means no evidence of active disease. Even though i'm stage 4, they can't see any evidence of cancer on ct scans or on the ctdna because enhertu has done such a good job of suppressing it. I will be on enhertu forever or until it stops working. They know with my cancer being stage 4 that it's still lurking even if they can't see it right now.

GOG 3104 is a Phase 3, randomized clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of sacituzumab govitecan (SG) compared to physician's choice of treatment (either doxorubicin or paclitaxel) in patients with recurrent or persistent endometrial carcinoma or carcinosarcoma. The primary endpoints of the study are progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). The trial aims to determine whether SG offers superior clinical outcomes compared to standard chemotherapy options in this patient population.   This is my study started last June 25. Igot taxol instead for chemo and did great with it 3 years ago and again. I could get sg when it wins approval for maintenance

Interesting! I'm being treated at Dana Farber. Not in a trial.

I finished chemo February 29, 2024, for my stage 4 endometrial cancer and also could not take the Keytruda. I was having CT scans then was switched to PET every three months to monitor for metastatic disease. The PETs were negative. Out of my concern for the cumulative effects of radiation and the cost, my oncologist suggested the NATERA blood test. The first time takes a while for results because the lab has to obtain and work up your original biopsied tumor sample. I just had my second blood draw.

I saw that sg will not be used to maintain. But in new cases. My doc will inform me of ways to maintain cancer free when I get there
