a month agoHello. I was diagnosed with OM in in my left eye in early 2023 and had the plaque radiation immediately. I had the biopsy which revealed my tumor was a class 2. I have a 50/50 chance of it NOT spreading…thinking positive here. My doctors are at Mayo in Jacksonville FL. My tumor is dead thankfully. I have some vision in that eye. I have monitoring every 3 months by my oncologist. A CT abdomen, chest xray and complete bloodwork. So far so good. My next round of testing is 2/16.

a month agoMonitoring anxiety is incredibly common in the cancer community, and many people find it helpful to develop coping strategies between appointments. Some community members share techniques like staying busy with meaningful activities, practicing mindfulness or breathing exercises, and connecting with others who understand this unique type of worry. Consider reaching out to other members here who may have similar experiences with regular monitoring schedules.
