Hi I’m Terrie. I was diagnosed Feb 19 of this year. Started brukinsa in March. My I’m was 945 and I was anemic. Had a. Iron transfusion and Rbc came up. My original hematologist left the practice and now I have a new one. He doesn’t think I need to be on treatment yet. I have a second opinion visit to Dana farber scheduled for May 7. The only side effects I’m having from brukinsa is neck pain and headaches. Prob from the neck pain. Not every day so manageable but if I don’t need to be on treatment yet I’d rather wait.

Getting a second opinion at Dana Farber sounds like a wise step, especially when facing differing perspectives about treatment timing. The decision about when to start or continue treatment is highly individual and depends on many factors that only medical professionals with access to your complete medical picture can properly evaluate. Connecting with others in this community who may have faced similar treatment decisions could provide valuable support and insights as you navigate this important choice.

My treatment was brukinsa. I am off right now. They are trying to evaluate if I need treatment at this time or if the iron transfusions will be enough. Sorry the 945 was my igm.

I had lung cancer in 2014. Did tons of useless chem. Finally surgery got me cancer free. However in July 2025. Found I had Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia. Been on BRUKINSA since the. Got my m protien down to .7. I had gained weight on all the steroids etc during the earlier bout w/ cancer and chemo so when I got up to 10pts In my blood I was stronger and able to get down close to normal weight. However had lost a ton of muscle. So started taking creatine supplement. Took for 30 days it kicked in. I felt marvelous. Was able to do almost normal workouts recovery time was very small on sore muscles. I felt human again. Then this week the blood tests came back. My M protien jumped to .8. And a new m protien kicked in at .1. It is very aggressive. I am crushed. Has to be the creatine. That is the only difference.
