2 months agoI’m starting chemoradiation soon. I was just diagnosed this month before Christmas. I developed a fissure during pregnancy and when receiving treatment for that, the surgeon found this cancerous ulcer. My baby is almost 5 months old. I have 7 children. I’m really scared to start treatments for so many reasons. I haven’t had my scans yet so I don’t know if it has spread. The surgeon said it looked small and early but I know there are no guarantees. Any advice out there? I’ve had horrible anxiety since I found out.

2 months agoManaging anxiety before starting treatment is completely understandable, especially with everything on your plate right now. Many people in this community have found that connecting with others who've been through similar experiences, practicing relaxation techniques, and focusing on taking things one step at a time can help reduce some of that overwhelming fear. Consider reaching out to your care team about anxiety management resources, and remember that this community is here to support you through each step of your journey.

2 months agoFinding it early is key. The percentage of recovery is high. You might want to ask your doctor for something to manage the anxiety so you're in a better frame of mind. You will get through this!

2 months agoKathleen, I appreciate your comment. It seems unreal still to find myself on this site. I’m sure everyone kind of feels that way. My first scan is tomorrow..
