What helps with mucus and cough during lymphoma chemo treatment?

Hi, I was diagnosed with diffuse large B cell lymphoma in Sept 2025. I’ve completed 4 cycles of RChop. Immunity is low and I keep contracting a phlegmy cough and congestion and I’m choking with mucous. Any over the counter remedies to help with this?

Managing mucus and congestion during chemotherapy can be challenging, especially when dealing with lowered immunity. While it's important to check with the medical team before trying any remedies, many patients find gentle options like staying well-hydrated, using a humidifier, or saline nasal rinses helpful for thinning mucus. The care team may also have specific recommendations that work best alongside the current treatment plan, so reaching out to them about persistent respiratory symptoms is always a good step.

Hi Linda I also have had cough and lots of mucus and runny nose. I have tried everything and so far nothing works. I am having my 5th treatment today and hopefully my last the 24th of February.A little nervous to have a pet scan after. Hopefully it is all gone.
