Did you start chemo without a bone marrow biopsy?

Has anyone else not had a bone marrow biopsy prior to beginning treatment? My husband was scheduled to have a bone marrow biopsy that had to be cancelled due to hospitalization, his chemo began during that hospitalization, and another bone marrow biopsy has not been scheduled.

This is a common concern that many patients and caregivers face, and treatment plans can vary significantly based on individual circumstances and medical urgency. While bone marrow biopsies are often part of the diagnostic process for B-cell lymphomas, doctors sometimes need to prioritize immediate treatment when a patient's condition requires urgent care. It would be worth discussing with the medical team about the timing and necessity of the biopsy moving forward, as they can best explain the specific approach being taken.

I was in the hospital for a week. They did a bone bone marrow biopsy while I was hospitalized. It was negative. They just wanted to make sure it hadn't spread to your marrow. Contact your care team to ask. We had a nurse navigator & had the best luck contacting her. Hang in there, be positive. After 6 rounds of chemotherapy, I am in remission.
