4 months agoHas anyone suffering from stage 4 BTC had stents placed in the non-obstructed bile duct and a PTC catheter that needs to be changed every six weeks to prevent bile duct infections?
Accepted Answer
Many patients with advanced biliary tract cancer face similar challenges with bile duct management, and you're not alone in dealing with these procedures. Hopefully, others in this community who have experience with stents and PTC catheter maintenance will share their insights about managing infections and the regular replacement schedule.

4 months agoYes I think I’m not an expert. She started out with 2 stents and two weeks later she’s got 3. Keeps getting pancreatitis

4 months agoMy loved one, who is 76 years old, was hospitalized with a septic infection caused by a blocked bile duct stent. The stent was removed and replaced with two new stents and a PTC catheter. This cancer is very aggressive and rare, and symptoms typically appear when the disease is advanced. He has lost a significant amount of weight and has little appetite. It is heartbreaking to see him deteriorate after having been such an active and independent person.
