Can trimodal therapy effectively treat high-grade bladder cancer?

I have been diagnosed with HG MIBC. Tumor was removed and now scheduled to meet with oncologist/care team. I want bladder-preserving therapy; I don’t want bladder removal. Several specialists suggested for me to ask for trimodal therapy (TMT); which I would like to consider. Is it effective for HG MIBC? Any ideas?

Trimodal therapy can be an effective bladder-preserving treatment option for some patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, combining chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery to target cancer while keeping the bladder intact. Your upcoming meeting with the oncology team will be the perfect opportunity to discuss whether this approach aligns with your specific situation and treatment goals. Coming prepared with questions about trimodal therapy shows great advocacy for your care, and the specialists can help evaluate if this treatment path offers the best outcomes for your particular case.

TMT worked well for me. I then took Padcev and Keytruda because I was already stage 4! It worked too! I know Oncologists that are going straight to Padcev and Keytruda and their patients bladder tumor is already half the original size in just a couple months. This is serious progress from just a couple years ago. So much hope today!

Agree. Keep the bladder unless it is not able to save it

I had stage-1, tried to save bladder with BCG, cancer progressed to MIBC, removed bladder only to learn cancer metastasized. That was 10 years ago. Still alive thanks to pembro and grace of God. Only regret, not removing bladder sooner.
